who we are

Jason S. Sousa, Co-Founder & CEO. Jason is a tech entrepreneur who has founded and managed many successful organizations over the course of his career. Most recently as Chairman and CEO at Artive Inc., a New York-based non-profit organization dedicated to protecting cultural property through technology.

As a pioneer in advanced database development and SaaS platforms, Jason has lead the development of many of the world’s largest and most complex database systems.

The design and development of the award-winning Claim Database combined Jason’s love of technology, fine art, and passion for protecting and preserving the world’s cultural heritage.

Christopher A. Marinello, Co-Founder. Chris is one of the world’s foremost experts in recovering stolen, looted, and missing works of art. A lawyer for over 30 years, Chris began his legal career as a litigator and became uniquely proficient in negotiating complex title disputes between collectors, dealers, museums and insurance companies.

In 2013, Chris founded Art Recovery International – a specialist practice providing due diligence, dispute resolution and art recovery services for the art market and cultural heritage sectors.

Over the years, Chris has recovered stolen and looted artwork valued at over $500 million dollars on behalf of museums, collectors, dealers, artists, governments, cultural and religious institutions and insurance companies.

The International Claim Database is a different kind of database. It offers an intelligent solution for cataloguing lost, stolen and at-risk classic car, watch, fine art, and other cultural property.

With input from professionals in key sectors, the International Claim Database has been built by professionals in the art market. Designed from scratch for accuracy and ease of use, the International Claim Database utilizes a practical user interface, innovative image recognition software and over 500 fields of searchable data.

International Claim provides our clients and partners with the ability to:

  • Submit registrations for lost, stolen and missing objects

  • Perform due diligence prior to sale or acquisition

  • Positively register claims as a contingency against theft

  • Manage provenance records for existing collections
